An official delegation of the Ecumenical Order  of St John went to Burundi for meetings with the Goverment in order to agree upon certain Humanitarian Projects that the Order would like to start. 

The construction of a Hospital University in joint venture with the Goverment is being studied in order to also bring the latest information regarding Tele Medecine in a country that they will be able to assit neighbour country's in  need. The Hospital is foreseen for 300 patients whilst the University will be for 1700 students. It is planned to also have Professors  that will be from different parts of the world.

The Ecumenical Order has further agreed with the Ministry of Public Health to sponsor 1500 patients throught the Local Public Health  scheme for at least a period of three years possibility to bring the number up to 5000.by creating a public health insurence card.

The Ecumenical Order has further agreed to sponsor the main Orphanage at Bujumbura and have already agreed to purchase a van , washing machines, cows for fresh milk, clothing and schoolraships for the tiution of the elderly children  and a generator have already been donated.

A visit was also done to the main Hospital and the Order will prepare a project for the supply of  medical teams that will come on a rotation period , purchase of electronic medical equipment.

The comitment is very big and very interesting how it takes so little for the joint venture between the Goverment and Private Interprise can do to help the needy population..

The promissed van to the Orphanage has finally arrived and is ready to be shipped by container along with other medical supplies and equipment for the main hospital..

We met officials of the Government in power and a second meeting with the Vice President of the Republic, this has made ​​it possible to deal with the projects on creation of a university hospital in the province of Gitega (the most populated with about 800,000 inhabitants) .

After having viewed the land on which the teaching hospital will be built and verified the location and logistics policy, it twill be possible recall that this structure may have on neighboring states, and are in negotiations to agreed to give a fast course all that is necessary to allow the construction of the structure in the shortest possible time.
